Studio Van den Akker (SVDA) products are meticulously handcrafted from the finest materials that evolve and gain distinctive character over time, underscoring their enduring quality. To preserve the beauty and longevity of your SVDA pieces, we recommend handling them with care using the following directions, ensuring they remain a cherished part of your collection for years to come.

Metals:
Most metals on SVDA pieces are delivered with a live finish unless specified differently. The live finishes are designed to naturally patina over time.
• Maintenance (live and lacquered finishes): Clean with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Do not use commercial or heavy-duty polishes or waxes as they may scratch or damage the finish.
• Restoration: To restore a polished finish on an item with a live or non-live finish, we recommend that they be professionally cleaned and polished.

Glass and Crystal:
Maintenance:
-Apply the glass cleaner with no ato a soft cloth rather than directly onto the fixture to avoid overspray that may damage other finishes.
-Glass and crystal can be cleaned by wiping with a soft, damp cloth or glass cleaner
Restoration:
Light scratches and nicks can often be addressed by a professional glass service.
