Woods
WUD pieces are stained and/or polished to enhance the natural depth and beauty of each finish.
While most surfaces are protected with a clear coat or wax, they remain susceptible to wear over time.

Maintenance:
-Gently dust with a soft, dry cloth.
-For light cleaning, use a slightly damp, soft cloth.
-For deeper cleaning, a mild vinegar and water solution can be applied with a soft cloth.
-Avoid using commercial, acidic, or abrasive cleaning products on wooden surfaces.

Important Environmental Information:
-Avoid placing hot or moist objects directly on wood surfaces. Rubber or plastic left in contact with the finish may cause damage.
-Be mindful of sharp objects that could scratch the surface.-Do not place wood pieces near heat sources, air conditioning vents, or direct sunlight
to prevent drying or fading.
-Maintain indoor humidity levels between 35–45% to prevent cracking or warping due to moisture fluctuations.
-Excessive moisture can lead to swelling and distortion of wood components.

Restoration:
-For deeply stained or heavily soiled wood pieces, we recommend professional cleaning or refinishing.

Metals
Most WUD metal components are finished with a live surface unless otherwise specified.
These finishes are designed to age and patina naturally over time.

Maintenance:
-Wipe with a soft, slightly damp cloth.
-Do not use commercial, acidic, or abrasive cleaners, polishes, or waxes, as these may scratch or damage the finish.

Restoration:
To refresh or restore a polished appearance on both live and non-live finishes, we recommend professional cleaning and polishing.

Glass and Crystal:
Maintenance:
-Glass and crystal can be cleaned by wiping with a soft, damp cloth or glass cleaner with no additives.
-Apply the glass cleaner to a soft cloth rather than directly onto the fixture to avoid overspray that may damage other finishes.

Restoration:
-Light scratches and nicks can often be addressed by a professional glass service.

Dusting and Cleaning Gold Leaf:
-Regular, Gentle Dusting: Dust routinely with a soft brush (like a sable or feather duster) to prevent dust buildup.
-A soft brush or even a vacuum cleaner on low suction can be used.
-Avoid Wet Cleaning for Pure Gold Leaf: Pure gold leaf is susceptible to damage with moisture, so avoid wiping it with a damp cloth.

Cleaning Imitation Gold Leaf:
-If cleaning becomes absolutely necessary for imitation gold leaf, use a barely damp cloth with a tiny bit of dish soap or a specialized cleaner and test a small, inconspicuous area first.
