To preserve the beauty and longevity of your SVDA pieces, we recommend handling them with care using the following directions, ensuring they remain a cherished part of your collection for years to come.

Metals:
Most metals on SVDA pieces are delivered with a live finish unless specified differently. The live finishes are designed to naturally patina over time.
• Maintenance (live and lacquered finishes): Clean with a soft, slightly damp cloth.
Do not use commercial or heavy-duty polishes or waxes as they may scratch or damage the finish.
• Restoration: To restore a polished finish on an item with a live or non-live finish, we recommend that they be professionally cleaned and polished.

To maintain your lamp shades, regularly dust them with a soft cloth or duster to prevent dust buildup.
For deeper cleaning, gently wipe fabric shades with a damp cloth and mild soap solution, rinse thoroughly, and allow to air dry.
For paper or delicate shades, use a soft brush or a vacuum with an upholstery attachment.
Avoid harsh chemicals and direct sunlight, and handle shades with care to prevent damage.
