Care Instructions Pipim products are meticulously handcrafted from the finest materials that evolve and gain distinctive character over time, underscoring their enduring quality. To preserve the beauty and longevity of your Pipim pieces, we recommend handling them with care using the following directions, ensuring they remain a cherished part of your collection for years to come. Metals: Most metals on SVDA pieces are delivered with a live finish unless specified differently. The live finishes are designed to naturally patina over time. • Maintenance (live and lacquered finishes): Clean with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Do not use commercial or heavy-duty polishes or waxes as they may scratch or damage the finish. • Restoration: To restore a polished finish on an item with a live or non-live finish, we recommend that they be professionally cleaned and polished. Woods: Wood pieces have been stained and/or polished to bring depth and beauty to each finish. Although most are protected with either a clear coat or wax, they are still susceptible to wear. • Maintenance: Care for your wood pieces by dusting regularly with a soft cloth. Do not use aerosol, commercial, or heavy-duty polishes or waxes, as they can yellow light finishes. Important Environmental Information: -Do not place/leave hot or moist objects directly on wood surfaces. Rubber or plastic left on the wood finish can damage the finish. -Do not place wood items near heaters, air conditioning units, or in direct sunlight to prevent over-drying and fading. -Avoid extreme humidity changes in your home, as this can cause wood to expand and contract, and can cause damage. -Maintain humidity levels between 35-45%, as extremely dry air can cause wood to crack. -Exposing wood to extreme moisture can also cause swelling and warping. • Restoration: We recommend that deeply stained or soiled wood pieces be professionally cleaned or refinished. Lacquer Finishes Lacquered pieces have been polished to bring depth and beauty. Although they are typically protected with a clear coat, they are still susceptible to wear. •Precautions: -Use placemats or felt spots under objects that may scratch the surface as well as coasters under any containers containing liquid. -Do not allow liquids to remain in contact with lacquered surfaces. -Rubber or plastic left on a lacquer finish can also cause damage. •Important Environmental Information: -Do not place/leave hot or moist objects directly on lacquer surfaces. -Do not place lacquer items near heaters, air conditioning units or in direct sunlight to prevent over-drying and fading. -Avoid extreme humidity changes in your home, as this can cause damage to lacquered pieces. -Maintain humidity levels between 35-45%, as extremely dry air can cause damage to lacquer. -Exposing lacquer to extreme moisture can also cause swelling or warping. •Maintenance: -Clean by using a dry or slightly damp soft cloth. Acrylic and Lucite: While beautiful and modern, require special care to maintain their clarity and prevent damage. •Maintenance: -Regularly dusting can prevent dirt and debris from accumulating and potentially causing scratches. Choose a lint free microfiber cloth or a soft, damp cloth to avoid scratching the surface. -A solution of mild dish soap and warm water can be used for cleaning. Rinse thoroughly with clean water and dry with a soft, lint-free cloth. •IMPORTANT - Never use products with ammonia as they can cause acrylic to become cloudy, and this damage is irreversible. - Never use abrasive cleaners, scouring compounds and harsh chemicals can damage acrylic. Important Environmental Information: -Protect from scratches by using felt pads or protective coverings on items that may come into contact with the acrylic surface. - Lift items rather than dragging them across the acrylic to prevent scratches. - Do not allow liquid to remain in contact with acrylic surfaces as they can cause damage. - Keep acrylic furniture out of direct sunlight to prevent yellowing or discoloration. - When moving or transporting acrylic furniture, be extremely careful to avoid bumping or scratching it.
