Most metals on SVDA pieces are delivered with a live finish unless specified differently. The live finishes are designed to naturally patina over time.
Maintenance (live and lacquered finishes)
-Clean with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Do not use commercial or heavy-duty polishes or waxes as they may scratch or damage the finish.
Restoration
-To restore a polished finish on an item with a live or non-live finish, we recommend that they be professionally cleaned and polished.
Glass and Crystal
Maintenance
-Glass and crystal can be cleaned by wiping with a soft, damp cloth or glass cleaner with no additives. Apply the glass cleaner to a soft cloth rather than directly onto the fixture to avoid overspray that may damage other finishes.
Restoration
-Light scratches and nicks can often be addressed by a professional glass service.
