Christian Heckscher

Rembrandt’s etchings in the Rijksmuseum sparked Christian Heckschers lifelong passion of creating contemporary furnishings using the old-word technique of fine metal etching. Beginning in his first studio in Brussels Belgium, he began working with small surfaces such as tables and then gradually to larger ones. After a move to California in 1980, collaborations with major design firms resulted in commissions for custom-elevator door panels, murals, and furniture for high-end hospitality projects worldwide. Today, Christian strives to perfect this timeless craft through a constant exploration of new furniture designs, textures, and techniques.
